Going off at CCBUILD 🎉

Living off grid doesn’t mean living in a tent in the bush trapping condensation from plants to survive. It means that you will be closer to becoming self-sufficient so that all the power you use will be produced by you.
~
🤔 I don’t want to rely on the grid, I want to go completely ‘go off… grid’!
You will need a to get set up with:
• Solar Panels (to create your electricity)
• Solar Charge Manager (maximising the efficiency of the solar panels)
• Batteries (to store any left-over energy)
• AC Inverter (takes energy that is stored in your battery and converts it back to usable power)
• A Backup generator (good if there are too many cloudy days in a row)
~
🤔 I don’t want to go completely off-grid but I want to reduce dependence on the grid.
Installing a solar battery but staying still connected to the grid is a good middle-ground. It lets you store left over energy created by your solar panels when the sun is nowhere to be seen. Also, when the power goes out, instead of lighting a candle near the sheer curtain to light your home 😱 you will have a reliable energy source to pull from.
~
🤔 Are solar panels still good to have on their own?
Solar panels on their own connect to the electrical grid and any leftover energy goes back to the grid. With this common set up, you can receive bill credits or payments for the extra energy you create and send to the grid. The main aim for this system is reducing your energy bills.
~
🤔 What costs more?
The price of a fully off-grid solar power system can be costly, which is why most remain connected to the grid, and purchase a solar system to supply the bulk of their energy needs. However, off-grid systems, using rebates can still be within reach for regular households. We like the middle-ground option, to install a solar battery to reduce dependence on the grid, but still stay connected ⚡
